Abacus Building and Architectural Services Ltd was originally set up to provide high quality building and development services to a property developer with interests across South Wales and in England. We have continued to serve this client since 2006, and to date have achieved several challenging planning consents, including some on appeal. Some of the building works have been equally challenging, but the professional execution has resulted in nurturing valuable working relationships with local authority departments and other professionals. The past and ongoing case loads include extensions and refurbishment of Spar stores, catering outlets, a dental surgery, offices, extra care and sheltered apartments, nursing homes and residential dwellings. The gross value of the current projects that we are handling for the client exceed £12 million being mainly new build but including some re-developments. We are actively involved with the client in identifying and undertaking new investments.

Having started from newly appointed offices in Swansea, the process of meeting the targets set by our work load has made it necessary to establish other offices. We now also have working offices in Porthcawl and Cardiff, with an office in London due to open in August 2009.

Although to date it has not been necessary for us to seek additional work, we have undertaken some successful design and build contracts for individual clients. Furthermore, we are now being increasingly recognised for our accomplishments and for the substantial investment which we continue to make in our infrastructure and personnel. We are therefore planning and moving into a phase of growth wherein we can deliver the same high standard of work for which we have become known, to a wider range of clients.
